This 3-week clay workshop invites teen artists to explore their creativity through hands-on sculpting, character design, and ceramic techniques. Whether you’re new to clay or already love working with your hands, this workshop offers a fun, expressive space to learn, experiment, and create.
What to Expect Each Week:
Week 1: Clay Basics & Creative Forms
Participants will learn fundamental hand-building techniques—how to shape, join, and sculpt clay. They’ll begin designing and constructing their own original monster or creature, with attention to form and personality.
Week 2: Design Evolution
With Week 1’s skills in hand, participants will rework their ideas into a more refined and detailed piece—possibly a functional “monster mug” or a sculptural artwork. Focus will be on craftsmanship, detail, and creative design.
Week 3: Glazing & Final Touches
Glazing brings the work to life. Teens will learn about glazing techniques, surface finishes, and how to use color expressively. After a final kiln firing, their creations will be ready to take home.
By the end of the workshop, each participant will walk away with two original ceramic pieces and a solid foundation in clay techniques they can build on in future creative work.
