This simple church was built in 1792 to replace an earlier wood structure built in 1766. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is located on Hospital and Hill Street in Frederiksted. The oldest church in the town of Frederiksted. Used to be known as the “Dane Church” for its large Danish congregation. Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is distinguished by neo-classical detailing, a square bell tower on the north end, and cupota, a later addition. The interior, through altered in the 1960’s, still maintains most of its original character. The present building, built in 1792, replaced an earlier wooden church constructed in 1766.
