Heads up, St. Croix drivers! Beginning Monday, July 28, a portion of Queen Mary Highway will be closed in both directions between East Airport Road and the UVI/Complex traffic light. This closure is part of WAPA’s ongoing undergrounding project — moving power lines below ground to make the island’s electrical system stronger, safer, and storm-ready.
We’re working to wrap up this phase before school starts, so your commute stays as smooth as possible. Please slow down, follow detours, and be kind to our flaggers and construction teams out there. We appreciate your patience as we invest in a more resilient St. Croix.
