This Friday, June 13th at 6:30 pm, come celebrate STX’s local ‘turts’ with a documentary night on Dorsch beach! There will be information about our local sea turtles and ongoing conservation efforts, as well as a surprise guest (it’s a giant leatherback made out of pleather!). This event is an STXPride and St. Croix Environmental Association collaboration with special support from
Friends of St Croix East End Marine Park who graciously invited us to be a part of their awesome Turtle Week, and STAR-Sea Turtle Assistance and Rescue who are the proud caretakers of our giant pleather-back friend
About the film (approximately 45 minutes): “Open Season is a Grenadian documentary film that tells the story of a unique and dedicated team of researchers and fishermen working to understand and protect Grenada’s last remaining sea turtles in the face of one of the world’s longest open hunting seasons for sea turtles.”
Bring blankets, chairs, pillows… whatever keeps you comfy on the beach! Hope to see you there… rocking ur pleather-wear!!
