Careers Job Title: Community Manager Overview MyVI is the go-to mobile app for discovering everything happening in the U.S. Virgin Islands—from local restaurants and shops to major festivals and hidden gems. We’re looking for Community Managers on each island (St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix) to help us keep our listings accurate, forge local partnerships, and ensure MyVI remains the ultimate resource for both visitors and residents. Key Responsibilities Content Management & UpdatesUpdate and add listings for restaurants, hotels, shops, events, and activities within the MyVI app.Verify existing information (contact details, hours, menus, etc.) to ensure accuracy.Maintain a consistent pipeline of fresh content to keep the app relevant and engaging.Partnership DevelopmentCollaborate with event organizers, venues, and local businesses to build relationships and promote their offerings on MyVI.Attend networking events, business after-hours, and tabling opportunities to represent MyVI and explore partnership opportunities.Meet with Airbnb hosts, hotel managers, and vendors to showcase the app’s benefits and encourage participation.Quality AssuranceDouble-check all listings and updates for correctness (location, pricing, contact info, etc.).Follow up with businesses or organizations when more information is needed or corrections are identified.Community EngagementServe as the face of MyVI on your island, actively engaging with local stakeholders to gather feedback and address community needs.Assist in organizing or supporting local MyVI-related events or meetups as needed. Benchmarks & Compensation Workload & Pay: $250 per week for 10 hours of work, which includes verifying and updating 120 items (restaurants, shops, events, etc.). Additional pay of $30/hour when you exceed your base workload by adding or updating +12 more items beyond the 120-item benchmark. Forge new partnerships to grow MyVI’s reach and listings. Represent MyVI at local business after-hours and relevant community gatherings. Time Commitment: ~10 hours per week (with the option to take on more). Qualifications Island Resident: Must live on (or be very familiar with) St. Thomas, St. John, or St. Croix, depending on the position.Local Knowledge: A strong understanding of local culture, businesses, and events.Networking Skills: Comfortable attending events, meeting new people, and developing partnerships.Tech Savvy: Ability to navigate and update listings via the MyVI app or admin panel. Basic proficiency in spreadsheets, email communication, and social media.Self-Starter: Able to manage time effectively, meet weekly benchmarks, and work independently with minimal supervision.Reliable & Detail-Oriented: Committed to accuracy and thoroughness when updating listings and partnerships.
