Thursdays: January 15, 22, & 29
6pm-8pm
Adult Workshop with January’s Artist-in-Residence
Telling one’s own story through the creative writing process and listening to another share their story, is powerful and life affirming. We bare witness often to another’s truth. Let us change the narratives and tell our stories in our own voice.
There are stories we’ve caried, often in silence or in the reassess of our blood and bone memory. We carry ancestorial stories, migration stories, death and birth, and love stories. Some quirky and funny, some magical and unexplainable, some sad and sorrowful, yet they are ours. Our stories take form as poetry, prose, essays or pages in a journal.
In this workshop series, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the many ways to own your voice and change the narrative through the power of the written word. I invite you to bring a journal and pen, we’ll write by hand to support the creative process. Please let us know if you need other accommodations. All are welcome, I look forward to creating with you.
